Front load washer bearing and seal. Removing the pulley.
So here we are with video number three for frontloadbearings.com and I’m gonna be showing you how to take the pulley off. Now on the back here, you have the shaft that comes through which is connected to this stainless steel basket inside. You have an aluminum pulley and then we have the nut that’s holding it on. The easiest way to take this off because it can be pretty solid sometimes. Just get yourself the right sized wrench or an adjustable wrench, get over the top of the machine, hold on to the pulley nice and hard and support the wrench and then give it a good whack with the palm of your hand. You may wanna wear gloves at this point because sometimes the edges on this pulley can be a little bit sharp but there you go. Then it’s starting to move and we’re gonna turn this all the way off, that’s pretty tight the whole way. This maybe a lucky nut that we’ve got on here. It is! Alright, this is what we’ll do. I’m gonna get a screwdriver here to block this off then we should be able to undo this the whole way, and here’s what we’ll do; we’ll just put the screwdriver straight in here to lock the pulley, then we should be able to pull this thing off the whole way and there we go. Now, also if you have a workshop and you have an airgun is you can always use an airgun to take this off as well, or you could use a big socket once you’ve got it loose there. All right, and now its she’s moving… there we go… a little bit more…you can use that screwdriver now to spin it off the rest of the way. Now you can see the thread and off comes our pulley! And there’s our rear bearing right there in this particular set.
Alright, the next thing that we gonna do is this particular unit has a spring clip holding the rear bearing. So we’re gonna get rid of that spring clip right now. Some models have it, some models don’t.
